Remember how we wondered if there was a good volume of essays from which we could draw excerpts? It took until I got back into my classroom today to remember the one I've had since grad school:
The Art of the Personal Essay: An Anthology from the Classical Era to the Present (selections chosen by Phillip Lopate)
I used it in a grad class on writing the Personal Essay--but many of the 75+ selections would find use in our AP classes.
Check it out!
